What You Can Do & How Long You Can Stay

This is a temporary visa to study up to 5 years. The length of the visa is dependent on the length and type of the study course. You may apply for further Student Visas to extend your studies.
You can travel to and from Australia multiple times.
You can work in Australia whilst on this visa, although restrictions may apply.
You can bring family members to Australia.
You may be eligible for a Bridging Visa to remain in Australia while waiting for this visa to be processed.

Limitations and Important Things to Know

You must be enrolled in a Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) registered course.
You may be refused this visa if you cannot satisfy the Department that you are a Genuine Temporary Entrant.
You may be refused this visa if you cannot demonstrate that you have genuine access to sufficient funds to cover your course fees, living costs, and airfares into and out of Australia.
