Electronic Travel Authority (Subclass 601)

Overview

Citizens of certain countries are eligible to apply for a 601 Electronic Travel Authority.

This may be the right visa for you if:

  • You want to visit Australia for a short period for tourism or similar purposes, and you want a visa that is cost-effective and quick to apply for.

What You Can Do & How Long You Can Stay

  • You can travel to Australia multiple times for 12 months.
  • You can stay in Australia for up to 3 months from each entry.
  • You can conduct business visitor activities.
  • Usually, you can study or train up to 3 months whilst on this visa.

Limitations and Important Things to Know

  • You must hold a passport from an eligible country
  • You must be outside Australia to apply for this visa.
  • You cannot work whilst on this visa.
